  • Re: Unable to access XML data in web service response

Thank you very much for the responses. I corrected the above function to include the full (X)path, and I am still unable to retrieve the lastName value. See the code below: var lastNameNode = employeeInfoWS.selectSingleNode(''/dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/s0:GetEmployeeInfoResponse/s0:GetEmployeeInfoResult/s0:empDS/s0:Employees/s0:lastName''); ...

  • Re: Unable to access XML data in web service response

As Agni said, your XPath is the problem. You have specified a single slash at the beginning... meaning it will start searching for the first node in the XPath from the current location. Since s0:GetEmployeeInfoResponse is NOT the first node, your select methode fails. Had you used a double slash (''//''), it would likely have succeeded. But, ...

    1. ''The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file '\\xxx.168.201.16\pfr\Europe\Logistics\Global Metrics\KPI Performance Form.mdb'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.'' The above lines in your error says that the file is opened by some other person, can you cross check whether some ...

  • Offline forms

Hi Just started investigating infopath, you guys have lots of great stuff here. I've got an ''Approach'' question. Basically, I've got a health services company, lots of paper forms they're looking to automate. IP Seems like a great way to go except for the handling of offline stuff. Essentially, lets say I have 20 forms and users will create ...

  • Re: Fully Editable Drop-Down List Box

In statement var logHistoryGroup = XDocument.DOM.selectNodes (/my:myFields/my:logHistorySection/my:logHistoryGroup''); XDocument.DOM.selectNodes gets the array of nodes(IXmlDomNodeList). we cannot add the nodes to this object. Instead we should get the parent node and append children to that node. so your statement should be var ...

  • Re: Unable to access XML data in web service response

As per your error message, statement that is causing the problem is ''XDocument.UI.Alert(employeeInfoWS.selectSingleNode(''/s0:GetEmployeeInfoResponse/s0:lastName'').text);'' I think xpath in the above statement should be ''/dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/s0:GetEmployeeInfoResponse/s0:empDS/s0:Employees/s0:lastName'' or it can be ...

  • Cross Domain data submission and retrieval.

Hi, I have created an access database and a form using infopath. I have published the form to a sharpoint portal but I am having problems getting the form to work properly due to security reasons. The form retrieves data to populate drop down menus from an Access database that resides on a seperate server address to that of the ...

  • Unable to access XML data in web service response

I am trying to query a database via a web service using InfoPath SP1. I have a form with employee ID, first name and last name fields. In the database, I have a table with EmployeeID, FirstName and LastName. What I want to do is query the FirstName and LastName based on an onAfterChange() event to the EmployeeID field, where the user enters an ID ...

  • Re: Inserting into Repeating Table Programmatically

It looks like your XML has a prefix of ''my'' so you need to add ''my'' as a prefix to your XML string also. And one more thing you need to take care of is ''CASE of the letters in the XML nodes and starting and end tags''. Try the following xml string it might help you var sRepeatingXml = ''<my:LogEntries ...

  • Re: Inserting into Repeating Table Programmatically

Hi Agni, thanks for the reply. I've included the code you gave me, but it throws me an error saying something that the element ''LogEntries'' entered is not as infopath expected due to the namespace naming difference i suppose, even after I setProperty(''SelectionNamespaces'',...). The error specified that the parentnode (logGroup) is with a ...
