  • Re: SQL version of Example

Hi Sainzmichael, You could use an OnAfterChange event handler to call SQL directly and update the current price field when the model number changes. Can you provide the code you are using that isn't working (or the rule) and some description of the schema? Thanks Patrick Halstead [InfoPath MVP] InfoPathDev

  • Re: Form loading times - why so slow?

Hi Scott, Great post! Yes, InfoPath has performance issues as a result of the reapply algorithm it is using to display the xml. Believe me, this is a huge issue. We have been battling performance for several forms over the past year. The good news is that most of the performance issues can be mitigated. First, some comments: number of views ...

  • Re: Repeated Table

Look at the InfoPath SDK. There is an event called OnContextChange which may fire when selection changes. Please take a look and reply with the solution. Note: you won't be able to support multiple selections with that though. For that, you'll need our smart combo box .... :) Patrick Halstead [InfoPath MVP] InfoPathDev

  • Repeated Table

    I'm using a repeated table to show the results returned by a web service. Imagine the table having this structure: +----+------+-------+ | ID | NAME |SURNAME| +----+------+-------+ | 3 | John | Wood | +----+------+-------+ | 6 | Mary | Green | +----+------+-------+ | 15 | Mike | White | +----+------+-------+ From the results the user must ...

  • SQL version of Example

I'm trying to use the ''Populating Table Row After Selection'' but instead using SQL rather then just static files. As I understand it, how this is done is by rules. I believe I have duplicated the rules, but I can't seem to get the expression or text boxes (I have tried both) to update. This is an order form and I have a drop-down list with ...

  • Re: How to select a different view based fields value

Hi Patrick, Thanks for your response to my query. I am pretty new to InfoPath, so I was wondering if you could point out how to add a rule that checks the value after I get the data and then switch views based on that? I looked into what you recommended but I am still not able to do this. Also, in regard to writing code to do this, could you ...

  • Re: Is InfoPath the right choice for this

Hi again, The details link is easy. There should be a sample on how to do this. • Form loading times - why so slow?

Hi All, I have read a number of articles on various news groups about poor performance when loading InfoPath forms. Which is being attributed to large numbers of views, lots of conditional formatting or the binding of c# event handlers. I too am experiencing poor performance and thought I would share my investigation findings with you all in ...

  • Re: Is InfoPath the right choice for this

Hi Patrick, thanks for the quick response, The existing system does not have a lot of custom logic, but definitly some, but other applications which will be converted later have extensive custom logic. Basically I don't want my current lack of knowledge i InfoPath scare me away from development in it if it is a better solution. For example In ...
