I sent an Infopath template to my friend as an attachment through mail.But he could not open it there.
Is it mandatory for my friend to store the form template in the same location or path as in my machine? Or is there a way by which he can open it from any location?
Please let me know a way by which my friend will be able to view the template ...

You need not do it in the User Interface. You can directly edit manifest.xsf file and search for your dataconnection path and replace the exesting webservice URL with your new URL.
File save manifest.xsf and publish it.
PS. Be careful when you edit manifest.xsf, any small mistake might screwup your solution. It would be better if you make a copy ...

This can be done through InfoPath itself. You can have rule on ''field4'', In the you need to specify a condition and check what is the 10th character in the string, you can use InfoPath substring functions for this.

We dont have real good way of limiting a text box size with paragraph breaks on.
But we can let user know that they have entered text more than they are supposed to.
This can be done through data validation, by checking the length of the string using ''string-length()'' function provided by infopath.

Here is the problem i am facing.
I have a Drop-Down control in Repeating table.
The values in Drop Down are populated from an xml file.
The user is able to make selection in the Drop downs.
Since the Drop down is in Repeating table ,user can create multiple drop downs thus making multiple selections
But my business rule demands ...

how can I limit the length of the text entered in an infopath textbox? The textbox must be multiline, and with the ''paragraph breaks'' checkbox checked, the option ''Limit text box to x charachters'' is unavailable.
Is it possible to use a pattern to work around this problem? Any other solution?
