• Re: Infopath and snitz

Since you have Snitz using an Access database, you should be able to create a form based on that database. You need to familiarize yourself enough with the db struture to know which tables need to be present in the form for a submit to work properly. Also there are probably other things going on in the background when a submit happens. You will ...

  • Re: appendchild

Loading the XML fails because you have a back-slash instead of a forward-slash in your closing tag... should be </my:Plant> and not <\my:Plant>. appendChild will fail because Node is probably blank due to the loadXML failure. • Re: Nodes

ExecuteAction only works on fields physically present in the current view. AppendChild works directly on the XML and will work regardless of whether the fields are present in the current view. Which is more simple? Depends on your comfort level with each... Greg Collins [InfoPath MVP] InfoPath Dev

  • Re: Integer cannot be blank???

any non-String attribute automatically ''cannot be blank'' by schema validation rules. If you want a non String type attribute to be blank, you must change it to type String. As for nodes (i.e. fields), you can manually modify your schema to add the nilable=''true'' attribute to it. This is the only way to allow it to be blank. Greg Collins ...

  • Re: update database question

Thanks for the reply and after poking around somemore i got it to update the row with a .js file. Now the problem is that when I submit in the preview in design mode it updates instantly, but when I publish it and try it timesout. Whats the difference in how the form is handled while in design mode and in its published state?

  • Re: Limit Size of Input in Rich Text Box

This is not really possible because rich text boxes do not store just characters. They store HTML, which includes both tags and text and inline images. Say your limit was 500 characters. If someone typed just text, they would never be able to type a full 500 characters because the text would be surrounded by a tag with a namespace. Add in a ...
