Hi -- since this is a field in a repeating table, you should just be able to use a Sum formula to get the total. So, have a field for your total (outside of your repeating group) and set the default to use a formula with a function of sum(selectfieldhere). Put a rule on that field to run if the value is greater than 100 and display a message box...

Hey, do you mind attaching a sample form? You can do that under the options tab. I'm having a little trouble understanding what you are trying to do and what issue you are encountering....

That's exactly right. So you can use a Sumbit action in a set of rules, but unless you set the button to "Submit" instead of rules and custom code, all that will happen is that the selected Submit data connection will execute.

Are you trying this in preview mode? If so, you'll need to set your form to full trust just while previewing, since the command will return a permissions error unless published on the same server you are ...

However, I'm thinking that may not be what you want to do ...

I thought I'd chime in -- I too prefer C#, but I found out a while back that you CAN debug jscript in InfoPath -- here's a Microsoft KB with more info.

With qRules, you have the SortTable command -- after you query for data, you could sort it....
So you know -- sometimes we won't find a post that has been added to an old thread, so do feel free to start a new thread next time you have a question.
