• Create a Repeating Cascading List from a Flat Data Source

It is common to need two or more list boxes where the choices in one are dependant on the value of another. This is known as a cascading list. A cascade can occur with as few as two levels up to any number of levels. Some common scenarios which require cascading lists are:Location: State / CityVehicle: Make / Model / TrimSchool: Year / Semester / ...

  • Re: Changing the selected item in DropDown by Code

Richard, I don't follow exactly what you are doing. Is the cascading list in a repeating table/section? What do you mean when you say ''the next dd1 selection''? In this the same dd list or in a different one in a separate repeating table/section row? Is the list populating... but also has a blank option? Or it is nothing but a blank ...

  • Change existing form to update Database.

I have an existing InfoPath form that the user wants to add the data to a access database and store to sharepoint(which it currently does). The existing form is pretty basic. It has a few repeating sections and repeating tables. My question is what considerations do I need to keep in mind when designing the new form and database. Will I be ...

Thanks a lot Agni, This is a managed code though, right? I was looking for VbScript and after a lot of trial and error and some research i found it out. It is very much identical to the managed code that you gave. This is I access it through VbScript XDocument.SignedDataBlocks.Item(0).Signatures.Item(0).Certificate.IssuedTo To obtain counts ...

  • Re: Updating view.xsl file

Hello Reetu, In answer to you first question about the smart combo box. Can you give a relative path for value and Display Name fields. Basically value and Displayname will contain the value @ClientName. This is similar to how list box works in InfoPath where you give the data connection name first, then the path to the repeating node in the ...

  • Re: Changing the selected item in DropDown by Code

Hi Patrick , I must have a custom control with other requirements, but in the mean time, trying to unleash the cascade in the repeating table using xsl which works for the most part. except: 1-I have taken the <option/> out, so the list will have no blank item. 2- dd2 selections works correctly for the first dd1 selection However, with the ...

  • Outlook email address retrieval

I'm currently working on an Infopath form where I need to pop up an outlook address book and then populate a text box with an email address that corresponds to the name selected from the address book. I have the book popping up but haven't had any luck grabbing the email address. I can get the name, but not the email address. Anyone have any idea ...
