Ok I checked and ya it looks like you can just add a field, save the form to the library and open an existing form up and the field is there. So COOL.
But what about populating the old xml with data in the new field? Can this be accomplished with scripting?
Maybe I am blind, but what book?

I am using Access 2003 to create a database and a user interface (data entry form) for the database. Instead of using Access to create my form, is it possible to use InfoPath and import the form to Access using it as my user interface? If this is possible, how do I do it?
Chantel.

Well, button controls won't be read-only since they don't have a text input field. For the others, you should be able to click properties on the text field and set to read-only.

just wondering if i can set a section to read only rather than going through and setting each individual control to read only based on the value of the true/false field

Unfortunately the only option i'm given with that is to hide the section. I want the section to be visible but read only.

I have two infopath forms & libraries on my sharepoint that contain related data. One library is used to track revisions/additions to the original form in the other library. Due to legal constraints, the original data must stay intact. I can populate a drop down to set key fields in the 2nd form to the values that they contain in the first ...

Some questions: Are you using your Main Data Source for the DB connection? How are you populating the field from AD? Is it code or are you using an AD Web service (like the one we provide)?

Hi Thierry,
You asked for a C# solution! :) Sure, you can filter with XPath. In fact Greg has several articles on how to do this. Search for ''filter repeating table''. Here's one sample:http://www.infopathdev.com/downloads/free/default.aspx?i=8af4f44352a4457fbb28c6c5e6319178

Hi DRobins
Put the control in a section. Double click on the section and go to Display tab. Click conditions and add a condition based on the true-false field you have in your main data source.

Hi Jay,
Good question! Can you design a simple repro scenario that we could test here? Just the steps you did to set things up?
