Hi:
When you walk through the data connection wizard and you connect to a SQL table, there is a button you can click to see the SQL that InfoPath is generating. Copy that out to a text editor so you can refer to it. My hunch is that since you are appending your "WHERE" clause to the end of the existing SQL command, your new command has ...

It sounds like you are saying that when InfoPath opens your form, there is enough whitespace that there are scroll bars showing on the side of the application itself, is that correct?
A few things could be causing that. There may be whitespace characters below your controls (i.e., the Enter key was pressed repeatedly). There may be a layout table ...

So, please excuse my being kind of slow (both to reply and in understanding!).... but this issue is occuring when you try to create a new form based on a web service? What happens if you just populate the GUID in the field programmatically on the form load instead of doing what you mention in your first post, where "the webservice creates a ...

To update an existing item, you'd need to populate the field in the form you are using with the ID for the existing item.
qRules returns the ID to the /id parameter, so the new item you've been creating is linked. But if you already have an ID in that field, qRules will attempt to update the list item instead.
So, you may want to use ...

My thought would be that the value doesn't exist when you think it does -- that is, you say that the table that contains ptAdviserGUID "will not display the value" -- that indicates that the value isn't present when you believe it is -- does that make sense? As to your null reference exception, that again points to something not ...

So, SupporterList is the only table you need your form to submit to?
In that case, yes, Supporter List = Main Data Source (mds). Have two secondary data connections -- one to Database List, one to Application List. You could have a repeating table bound to your Database List that shows only the items where the DB Id = the DB Id for the Supporter. ...

Hi:
You were on a track that was close to right, so don't despair!
You need to add a secondary data connection to your Application table. Then you can add an expression box where you'd like to see the Application Name.
Here's the tricky bit -- you have to use an XPath filter to perform what you'd think of as your ...

I'm having a little trouble locating the AdviserGUID field in your main data source -- what's the full XPath?
That said, I do notice an odd rule on /dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/tns:GetFormDatasetResponse/tns:GetFormDatasetResult/ns1:dsForms/ns1:Forms/ns1:ptAdviserGuid that makes me wonder if it could be at the heart of the issues you are ...

I added a rule to your PIN field to set your First Name field from your secondary data source. Give it a whirl. Right click the link in the header and save the template locally. Right click the template to open in Design mode and then you'll be able to preview.

That's why I think that the product group needs to go inside the Retailer group. The data that provides the LIST of products probably comes from someplace else, and the product field itself is probably a drop down (we don't want anyone typing that in, they would be sure to all type it differently!). If the list of products is also in the ...
