Generally, when rules don't work the way I expect they will, the problem is that a field is not the value I think it is. Add a rule to field:Number1 that will display its value when you change it, as well as actions to your submit rules to display the value of the field the conditions are based off of. This may help you see where your logic ...

Okay, so you have someone who will fill out the forms for each response? You say these come in via PDF?
It sounds as if the form does NOT have to be a browser form, is that correct?
If it doesn't have to be a browser form, you can either base your form off a database (I'd suggest SQL rather than Access -- there is a free SKU if cost ...

Any chance that instead of using subfolders, you could leverage some form information for grouping? For example, if your forms are specific to certain departments, you could promote the Department field, and then in your SharePoint view, you could group on Department, with the groups collapsed by default -- then users could look in the specific ...

Hi:
When you publish, try selecting the publish to network location option and publish to a location on your machine. Then open the .xsn. Exporting as Source files simply expands the template (giving you a ton of fun ways to break it) and I think is not what you want.
This Office Online link refers to IP 2003, but the basic concepts are the ...

It sounds like you want to create an InfoPath form that submits to an Access database -- You also mention browser forms? Browser forms have to use web services to submit to a database, per this Office Online article.
But why do you need to submit to Access or SQL? What are the ...

Does your code run in a custom submit event? Check out this article -- it suggests that the only exception to rules running before code is the "Close this form" rule on submit options. Seems like it may be worth a try?

If you had (for example) fields in your main data source for user name and for alias, and something in a secondary data source or your main for your search term (I'd use a secondary Util XML file, but that's me). Then you add a button to your form and the button rules would set the ...

Can't you change your submit options to use rules and then use a rule to first submit to Access and a second rule to submit to your email connection? I really don't think you need to write code for this.

I don't know what versions of SharePoint or Excel you are using, but this link may be of some help. Patrick is right -- you could use our tool to generate XML files for your Excel data -- with promoted properties and submitted to a form library, you could then query that.
