What if you defaulted the three textboxes to the value 0? I know it would not be blank when the from comes up but it should get rid of the issue. I experienced similar issues with working with .NET Winforms.

I've been looking at the MS examples of creating custom Toolbar buttons, however they do not show how to link them to actual scripts embedded in the Form.
Does someone have an example for me to look at?

I am trying to set the value of text box using a formula.
It calculates the the percentage increase for an employees salary.
The problem is before the old salary and new salary are entered the percentage box displays NaN.
All three boxes are decimal.
I would prefer the percentage box stay blank until numbers are entered.
any ideas. i'm sure ...

Thanks for the info. So you are opening a InfoPath form through SharePoint. When you are saying you ''open the form again'' are you pressing the ''Fill out form'' button? If so, it makes complete sense that the form would be opened to its default values.
Also, inspect your XML in your secondary data source. I think this may be your problem. ...

I have connected a pull down feild1(ITEM) within a repeating table to data in SQL. I have setup another pull down to auto increment a number in feild2(PartNumber)
