Craig...one idea that comes to mind is to write a web service that can send the email. InfoPath can call the web service.

Are you refering to the pop-up box that is discussed in this recent thread?

Hey Thanks!
Whilst your suggestion didn't directly resolve the issue, it has put me on the right path.
Always interesting to see how others approach similar problems - I hadn't considered the view element.
Thanks again!

Is there anyway to bypass the email submission validation box that pops up when you are submitted via email? I would just like the form to automatically send the email without having the user to click Send? I looked at old forums but couldn't find any info on this.
Thanks!

Great. Indeed, conditional formatting seems to be the way to go in your case. From there, you can get creative and considering that you are already throwing secondary data sources and Web Services, you are way up there already!
Good luck wit your developments.

Hi Patrick and thanks for your response. Outlook is the default in the organization, however some clients will have this disabled or running from machines where it has not been configured for their profile. Looks like the server based solution. I hadn't considered a HTTP post. Do you have any details on how to do this?
Thanks.

Thanks Patrick. I appreciate that. Well, it is easy, I was trained by one of the best: you!

Hi,
An easy way is to have 2 buttons and to show/hide the right one with conditional formatting based on your criteria.
