• Re: Auto generation of repeating section

Without code. 1. I would think you could merge the two repeating groups into one. That way both sets of fields gets created at once You can still separate the fields into two seperate repeating sections on the form. That way they can have different conditional formatting if thats required. This won't work if you need multiple records for the ...

  • Re: Partially blank email on submit (and no not switched views!!)

Are the fields being blanked bound to a secondary data connection? Secondary dataconnection values do not get sent with the final form xml. Only Main dataconnection values. If you need secondary data connection values to be saved and sent, they need to be copied into a Main dataconnection field. Another thing which has got me in past is if I use ...

  • Re: automatic user data retrieval

when the user presses submit you could set a field e.g. my:formLock to a value, e.g. true. Then in your rules which populate from sharepoint, add a condition which says 'if formLock is not true'. This way the fields will only auto populare (or in your case, RE-populate) once the formLock value is set. The email which is sent with the ...

  • Re: How to dynamically populate infopath form templates based on user input(name, id etc)?

Does your sharepoint site have table with all this information in it already? If it does, you could use that list as a secondary data-source to do a couple of things. You could let the user enter in last and first name, then match this with the secondary data source to retrieve all the other info. Or if the sharepoint list is comprehensive (ie ...

  • Re: Send notification e-mail without form attached or included (IP 2007)

I should get a hold of IP2007 so I can better answer. In IP2003 if you use jScript (so yes this is 'code' but sometimes I think people assume that jScript in Infopath form = level 3 security required. A lot of it works in Domain (level 2) security requirement. Anyway, in jScript you can reference the EmailAdapter data connection ...

  • Re: Checkbox field validation in a repeating table

    * You could do this with jScript - it might even be easier than the following method, which doesn't require rules. When I've had multiple check boxes - and at least one must be checked, I've used a counter field. So you have 3 chk box fields my: chkBox1, my: chkBox2, my: chkBox3. You also create a field to store a 'counter' ...

  • Re: Repeating Section

A sample would really help in understanding exactly what you are trying to accomplish. I've mocked up 3 variations that 'kind-of' sound like what you are describing. But I think View 2 in the attached template is what you are actually getting at? If none of the examples look correct, then I'll wait with Hilary for your own ...

  • Re: How do you upgrade a form in production with changes?

As Hilary say, if you have automatic upgrade options set, when the old forms are opened they should display based on the new template. Some 'useful to know' thing I've found: Make sure you use 'Publish' and not just 'Save' the new template over the top of the old one. The new template should be ...

I may have to bow out here - unfortunately I have no experience with how Infopath behaves when submitting to Sharepoint. Sorry I couldn't help.

  • Re: 2 Questions - Query Limits and SQL Connection Security

So you have scope to use some jScript/Vbscript to initiate the query instead of default buttons and rules? In script you can modify the SQL query that is defined for a data connection 'dynamically' before calling the query - this would only retrieve the data you need.
