After posting my question, I found another posting that says can't do easily in IP 2003 but in 2007 there is an add-on that makes it easy.
In 2003 have to have the default printer set to PDF writer which is not practical
One of these days we will get upgraded. :)

Does anyone know how to print a Infopath 2003 form to Adobe pdf?
I'm trying to accomplish this by adding a function to a button that has data connections tied to it.
I want to perform the data connections along with saving the pdf to a certain
directory location either a network drive or a SP library.

We use IP 2003 and as a result, we email a lot of .xsn files around for processing.
We discovered an issue and not sure how to plan for it.
We store the final xsn files in a library (some in SP, some in network drives and some in a file storage system).
The original templates are all in a forms library in SP 2003.
If the template every ...

Filenet stores the reference to the image and the actual image is stored as a tif.
So it does not look like this would be an option.
In our case, FileNet woud staore the actual xsn file but the pointer for the template is still back to the SP forms library.

How do you store InfoPath forms in a SQL table?

Here is truly a cross functional question.
Has anyone ever stored InfoPath forms in FileNet Imaging Systems? We would rather store the forms with the other part of the client's file rather than keep separate in a SP library but we are concerned what will happen if the template gets moved or changed.

I have a form in development in IP 2003.
Based on an email address, I search a SQL table and populate a dozen fields.
I do this by setting the default values on each field based on a match on the email fields
When I open the form, I am getting inconsistent results. Sometimes the fields are populated and sometimes ...

I am having a brain gas bubble (being politically correct).
Using IP 2003
I have a field that I want to say is not required if another field is not
blank. In other words, make field 2 required if field 1 is blank. And
conversely, if field 1 is not blank, fields 2 is not required.
Rule? Validation?

How do you step through the XPath?
I did show the incorrect example
First Name was correct
../../dfs:queryFields/q:tblTravelProfile/@FirstName[../../../my:TravelerInfo/my:Email = ../../../dfs:dataFields/d:tblTravelProfile/@EMail]
but last name is
../../dfs:queryFields/q:tblTravelProfile/@LastName[../../../my:TravelerInfo/my:Email ...

I am using a web service only for the Active Directory data.
The form was designed from the beginning as a database connection.
To add to the frustration, here is an update:
I was able to get the issue to run on one field and one field only. I use email as the primary key. I set the field email via WSDL from AD and then search my ...
