Hi Rully,
Welcome to InfoPathDev!
You could do it through a secondary data source and through code, using something around:
string qry = ''MyValue'';
ADOAdapterObject oNameTable = (ADOAdapterObject) thisXDocument.DataAdapters[''tblTest''];
oNameTable.Command = string.Format(''Select * from tblTest where Test = ''' + qry + ...

Hi Patrick,
Does your solution rely on inserting the XML file into the XSN?
If it does, then it probably won't be the best solution for my situation, as I'd have to run a script of some sort to insert the XML document into the XSN.
This probably would cause more problems than it solves.
However, as always thanks for the reply.

Read this lab - Lab 9: ADO.NET DataSets in InfoPath 2003 -http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/odc_ip2003_tr/html/odc_INF_Lab_09.asp
It shows you how to create a webservice that uses ADO.net that can handle insert, update and deletes all in one call.

I know this isn't quite what you're looking for, but what about putting your browse button in an HTML taskpane? This implementation would be incredibly easier, but not nearly as elegant.

Hi Dan,
I updated the link not to append the period and it works now.
Searching the forum and the InfoPath SDK are good resources. We also have many HowTo documents and of course, we have four people from the InfoPath team (who actually worked on the product). So, we have a ton of expertise to help respond to your questions..
