Hi, Jerrold:
You can create formulas in InfoPath, which I think may the heart of what you are asking. You can pull data into forms from secondary data sources like Access, so you'd be able to maintain lists of your prices and cut lists there -- but it sounds as if your design software already has at least some of this -- what database does it ...

Hi -- I've sent an email to you requesting your template so I can take a look. If it isn't in your inbox, send me an email via the forum and we'll get you squared away.

Do all your fields in your SharePoint list have data in them? InfoPath won't include fields that don't have values, thus the mismatch in the count. For the purpose of testing, make sure none of the columns in your list are entirely blank.
However, the .NET compatibility issue may make this point moot.

I'm pretty sure the issue is .NET 3.5. When I search on the error message: System.Security.SecurityException Request failed at Microsoft.Office.InfoPath.MsxmlNavigator.IsValidNode(MsxmlNode test)
I get results like this, indicating that .NET 3.5 has an issue with IP code.

Hi --
Once I set the GetUserProfile data connection not to run on load (so I could preview the template) I was able to preview it without any errors. Hi -- what is the trust level on your template? Do you mind attaching it to a reply so we can take a quick look at it? Under the Options tab you can attach a file.

I don't think Excel will copy nicely into IP -- especially if what are you wanting is to insert as many rows into your form as there are rows in Excel. We do sell a tool for Excel to InfoPath conversion that you may find useful, however, if you have a process that is currently in Excel that you are trying to move to InfoPath.

Hi:
The standard SQL connection in IP will pull all the data from the table. There is no way without code to add a dynamic where clause.
If having all the data returned to your form and then filtering at that point isn't a dealbreaker, you can do that -- run your query and set your values from the returned data, adding a filter where USER_ID ...

Hi, Catharine:
If you open the SharePoint site in Internet Explorer, what security zone is it in? That's what I'd check first, see if the site is in your Local Intranet.
