What a Difference a Decimal Place Makes! Or, How I Learned More About Math Than I Wanted To

The problem seemed like it would have an obvious answer. I had an XML that had been digitally signed when the InfoPath template was opened in the browser, but that could not be opened with the same form in the client. The helpful error message said: Simple, right? It seemed that the browser / client thing was probably a distraction -- something ...

Re: Insert statements from Infopath

Hi-- I think a bit more detail on what you are trying would be helpful. First, are you trying to populate your main data source with data from a secondary data source? It sounds as if you are -- XPathNodeIterator is what you'll need, and I think there should be lots of code samples around (possibly not for VB though -- if you aren't ...

Re: problems submitting items to a sharpoint list

If you have a non-repeating mapping, you still need to identify what field in your form (non-repeating) you want to use for the SharePoint List Item Id. In your current sample form, I don't see a field in the data source that makes sense for this, so I'd add a new field. Then use the full XPath to the field. I've done this to your ...

Re: problems submitting items to a sharpoint list

It looked to me from your mapping that you were mapping your fields from the repeating item group, is that correct? In that case, if you want to use the /id parameter in the Submit to SharePoint List command, you'd want to have a field inside that same repeating group (you don't have to show it on your form) that can hold the item id from ...

Re: how i can unite group of controls and form code to use it in future projects

Right, that's why template parts won't work for you. Here's an MSDN link on creating your own ActiveX control that can bind to InfoPath data....

Re: The form template associated with this form cannot be found.

Hi, Sam: Just updating this with some of our findings thus far. The user can open the template and the already saved XML by using the URL to those items instead of opening from SharePoint. Updating to SP 2 doesn't seem to have fixed the issue -- in fact, this same user has a laptop with Office 2007 SP1 on it, and he can open the ...

Re: how i can unite group of controls and form code to use it in future projects

I think I maybe don't understand what you are trying to do. I thought what you meant was that you have a general set of InfoPath controls, data structure and code that you want to be able to reuse in multiple templates. Since you need code, template parts appear to not be an option for you. I was suggesting creating a baseline template and ...

Re: problems submitting items to a sharpoint list

Here's the thing -- the /id parameter? It is supposed to have a value that is a field in your form. Do you have a field called my:id? Is the data you've mapped repeating? If it is repeating, you want the relative path to just the field where you would like qRules to return the SharePoint List Item Id (necessary if you'd like to update ...

Re: how i can unite group of controls and form code to use it in future projects

If what you are asking is if you can use custom code in template parts, you are correct, you cannot add custom code to template parts. I'd suggest you create a base template that has the controls and code you wish to reuse, and start any new templates using the base template. You can change the form's name under the form properties to ...
