Email features in InfoPath require Outlook 2003. They are disabled otherwise. Sorry, there is no workaround other than to have Outlook 2003 on each machine.

Hello all,
I am a brand new infopath user, and I am looking for the best ''how to'' sources for building forms to use at my workplace. My dilemma lies in the fact that I have zero experience with using this program or any other program that is designed for this sort of thing. Absolutely any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, you can just do this:
if( Node )

}

You'll have to do something like this:
IXMLDOMNode newField = blabla.cloneNode( false );
newField.text = ''xxx'';
IXMLDOMNode groupNode = thisXDocument.dom.selectSingleNode( ''XPath/to/containingGroupNode'' );
groupeNode.appendChild( newField );

You will have to set the policy using SMS which is a Windows product. The book describes how to build an MSI for each machine. Sorry for the confusion. Chapter 8 (not 6) describes how to create the MSI for a given CAS policy. For the SMS stuff (setting policy), you'll want to check MSDN.

</node>

You could have SQL Server assign the values when records are added. You can use a uniqueidentifier column and mark it as the RowGuid, which will get a default using the NEWID function).
If you need to create the guid from Infopath, you can create a new guid using C# or VB with System.Guid.NewGuid()

It could be the structure of your schema. 1) What does your schema look like. 2) What node are you binding the drop-down list to? 3) In what order are the filters placed for this control?
