Is there a way to customize the context menu that is displayed in the Repeat controls to add new rows?
Also,
Is there a way to hide certain tool bars and menu options while entering the data.

The issue is this. Pictures that I used when developing the form, for a background, buttons etc., are being downloaded to users PC's even though they are no longer referenced in the form. They are being pulled from somewhere but I can't find them on SharePoint anywhere.

Did you actually clear InfoPath cache?
Use the following command in command prompt to clear the infopath cache
''c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\INFOPATH.EXE'' /cache clearall

Is logged in user same in both the cases, if not check if both the users has same set of permissions in sharepoint.
If the above is not the case then add your sharepoint site to the trusted sites list and try submitting the form.

What could be the problem, when I am not able to submit a infopath form with the function - load it to sharepoint list - in a network with Internet connection.
At the second place (Computer with WLAN DSL connection) it is no problem to load the form into the sharepoint.

I have encountered a strange error.
I have a form. I modified the form and published it to sharepoint. For some reason I have a user, everytime this particual users accesses the form she pulls up an older version of the form.

Yes I was able to get the AD property values by both clicking on ''Invoke'' and from TestConsole.exe on the local machine only if I set the WebConfig to <identity impersonate=''true'' /> if I set this value to False then I do not get any results.
