You need to select the "Edit Xpath" checkbox in the formula editor to add the [1]. You can attach your template to a reply (under the options tab) and I can help you with your syntax in your form.

Hi --
It would help to see the code prior to this line as well, since the undefined error makes me think that you've not initialized the variable named "batch".

I think what you are saying is that you have buttons in your repeating table that are hidden when certain fields are equal to zero -- and that the default values for those fields is zero. If that is the case, then the behavior you describe would be the expected behavior -- the user adds a new row, all the fields that make up the conditional ...

You can set a default value on the field the control is bound to -- right click the field in the data source task pane and select properties....

Wow -- I just answered a question on this yesterday, and added a sample form to my post. The sample defaults to the first row, not the one immediately above. This sample, though, defaults to the one above. I think between the two of them, you'll be able to get this working. Give it a try and holler if you get stuck, okay?

Add your drop down bound to the first field. Have a rule on the field to set the value of the second field to the first field's value.
Alternatively, set the default value of the second field to the first field....

Hi:
Yup, what you are asking is absolutely possible (um, if an "option table" is a repeating table, bound to a repeating group? I'm not familiar with that term).
Here's a Hello World.
You don't mention which version of InfoPath you are using? If IP 2003, you'll need Visual Studio for managed code, if IP 2007 or 2010, ...

What happens if you put your "AND" in lower case? Also, I don't know if VB cares about case, but you declare "xPath" as a variable, then set it using "xpath" and use it as "xpath", both with the "p" lower case....?

Add a rule to the field bound to drop down 1 to set drop down 2 to blank.
