• Re: Xpath Syntax for Secondary Data Source

This can be done fairly simply with rules and such, but in code it's not possible to have a single XPath reference two data sources. You could first get the my:user value and concatenate it into another XPath, but the JScript syntax for accessing a 2DS is somewhat involved. Is there some reason you can't use a rule to show this ...

  • Re: Recursive rules

    1. Create a boolean field called calculating in either your main or a secondary data source and have its default value as false. 2. Change both of your rules to perform these three actions: Set calculating = true Calculate and set the other field Set calculating = false 3. Change both of your rules to only run when the ...

  • Bulk Upload Files and Images to DBXL

A new feature has been added to the DBXL Migration Tool to allow bulk uploading files and images to DBXL. Once these files are in DBXL, you can query them from DBXL using QueryDB, and include links to them in your XML forms. Here are the simple steps to using this feature. These assume that you have installed a version of the ...

  • Re: Infopath/VB repeating table issue

Of course the rows iterator is already at the bottom of the list. You're already iterating all the way through it in the previous While loop. You can restart it at the beginning of the list by calling Select() again, but I think you need to inspect the logic you're using because I have a feeling there are some oversights. ...

  • Re: XML datasource rebind

As I already said, if you are adding nodes to the data source correctly, you don't need to do anything to refresh the table. It will refresh on its own. Could you attach a screenshot of your secondary data source and paste your code that is adding the new nodes?

  • Re: XML datasource rebind

Could you describe more specifically what the 5 textboxes + button do? In what way are they adding new nodes to the secondary data source? If you have code that's adding new elements to a repeating group, they should show automatically without some sort of manual refresh. Perhaps the nodes you're adding to the data source have ...

  • Re: How to programically display a section as part of form submission (FormEvents_Submit)

There's no need to use code to show a hidden section. Just create a field in your form called Submitted that you set to true when the form is submitted. Then conditionally hide the hidden section based on the value of the Submitted field.

  • Using DBXL with existing data - Other approaches

A while back, Hilary Stoupa wrote an excellent, detailed blog post about modifying a database table with existing data to work with a DBXL solution. I highly recommend reading it if you are faced with that sort of situation, as it is the go-to guide for blending existing data with new data from DBXL. Here is the ...

  • Re: get/set Rich Text Box height from VBscript code

You cannot directly access IP controls from code, regardless of the language. What you're describing isn't possible.

Yes. It depends on what the code does.
