Last » Re: SaveToSharepoint with metadata, is this possible? Hi, I don't believe that the qRules command (SaveToSharePoint) will allow setting other columns in the document library. However, the command does include a parameter that allows you to set the name of the uploaded document (so you don't have the string of numbers before the document name), so at least that solves one issue. Can you give ... Posted to Qdabra qRules (Forum) by ErnestoM on 07-11-2012 Re: Help please-Solve: Number of days = (todays date - date initiated) ???? Hi, Certain math, string and financial functions that are available in Excel are unfortunately not available in InfoPath. We resort to qRules when calculating date differences such as the one in your example above. Of course, custom code could also be used. Good luck! Posted to General (Forum) by ErnestoM on 07-11-2012 Re: Data Connection relative to site No, I don't think that a content type will address this. The limitation is in the InfoPath connection wizard. You have to provide a full URL. Notice how there's no option to use a formula, or a field from the form, etc. It's an absolute path URL. Sorry, I can't think of a workaround or solution. Posted to General (Forum) by ErnestoM on 07-09-2012 Re: Add an update field to a repeating table Database forms are bound (locked) to the database, which is why you've been having issues adding a field. If you look at the form's schema, you'll probably see a little lock next to each node and group. So, basically, if you want flexible InfoPath forms, with an unlocked and modifiable schema, you should not use a database-bound ... You can then hide/show these different dropdowns as desired, using conditional formatting. So you could: 1. Show dropdown1. 2. User makes a selection 3. Based on the selection in dropdown1, you show dropdown3A, which is the dropdown that shows the data set filtered based ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by ErnestoM on 07-09-2012 Re: I want to display text box based on dropdown list box Hi- I guess the exact step by step procedure depends on your version of InfoPath, but a quick Google search will reveal many tutorials, some from Microsoft and some from third parties. You're looking for "conditional formatting" within InfoPath. Here's an example of one such tutorial I found: ... Posted to General (Forum) by ErnestoM on 07-09-2012 Re: Infopath 2007- Add rows dynamically in repeating table Hi- Usually repeating tables have a small, clickable link under them which allows users to add rows to the table. Adding rows via a rule or a button click would require code or qRules. Good luck! Posted to General (Forum) by ErnestoM on 07-09-2012 Re: Get Diplay Name from repeating table instead of ID When this happens to me, I add another node to my schema. So for example: under the repeating node, I would have a field for the ID, and a field for the DisplayName. Obviously the dropdown stores the ID and displays the displayName, but storing these separately means that I can use them later in other places in my form. Add a rule to the ... Posted to InfoPath 2010 (Forum) by ErnestoM on 07-09-2012 Re: Store Data in Sharepoint list item Codeless Hi Jegan, This is not supported in out of the box InfoPath, and that's precisely why people turn to code or qRules to achieve this. You could add a column to the list, and then this column becomes your text box in the SharePoint list form. Of course, the list form can be customized as desired and the SharePoint view can be modified as ... Posted to SharePoint Integration (Forum) by ErnestoM on 07-09-2012 Re: Data Connection relative to site My understanding is that when the submit-type data connection is created, the submit URL is hardcoded, and the only way to modify it would be by running the data connection wizard again to modify the data connection. I assume something could be done via code (or qRules) but that would not be an option in out-of-the-box-InfoPath.
