I'm a little bit confused about the 1st way you suggest (I know how to do the 2nd, and would like to learn how to the first, so I hope someone can clear this up for me). I already have a Main data source and a Secondary data source. The DropDown List control looks up the values from the SharePoint list with a value =@Cost_code and Display ...

Still trying your way...I always get the value of the first row using:
var x = eventObj.Source.selectSingleNode(''/dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/d:tblRAHeader/d:tblRADetail/@placeholderfield'').text;
XDocument.UI.Alert(''x:'' + x);

buttons have no value...here's what I wound up doing:
1) create a placeholder field in my detail table (make it hidden) and give it a default value using:
count(../preceding-sibling::d:tblRADetail/@Piece) + 1 (you can pick any field from the row)
2)create a 2ndairy ds called Support with one element RowPosition...this is an external resource ...

Thank u.

Example:
If u click the button in the 5th row,then using e.source will get u the data ...

Why are you maintaining security roles outside of SharePoint where it is a builtin feature that does not required any coding to maintain or customize?

regular layout tables. I started with a new blank form, added a Table with Title, it picks up the scheme, then added other multicolumn tables and they are all colorless (unschemed, if that is a word).

Hi TIA
i think this is related to the language setup of your sharepoint.
You could try and do a similar thing as ek38 tried. Thei rproblem was date time but the issue could prove similar
