After the submit it sounds like you would want to create a new record or row. then you would copy the data from the previous row to the new one to "seed" you values.
It sounds like this is the step you are missing or you are not referencing the new row properly.
I beleive there are some blog examples, here on the site, on how to use an ...

As long as you can identify the user or their group then you can add a rule on Open that switches view based on the condition.
I use an Active Directory web service to identify each user and if needed, if they belong to a certain AD group, and then route them accordingly or allow them to edit.
I have seen mixed success using user roles but ...

So there is one form for each work order with multiple users updating each one?
I typically store my forms in SQL server using the Database Accelerator. Qdabra Database Accelerator Suite Version 2.1 - Developer That gives file locking to alert the user and the second user only gets the form in read only view if someone else is editing ...

Welcome to the forum.
You can use a Word document to create the template of a form. ie. a form which looks like the word document. For future data collection in InfoPath vs Word. This is not the same as exporting data from existing Word documents.
You need to save your Word files in xml format. Then you could open them all in one ...

Sure.
I updated the weight and height fields only to test.
My guess is you need to go through the data connection wizard again. It will reevaluate the table automatically.

This has reminded me why I hate Access.
I would seriously recommending a switch to SQL or SQL Express as these little format things are much simpler since it does not try to hold your hand on everything.
Two things.

Typically you would not give the user the opportunity to name the form themselves. having a standard naming scheme is much better.
Best practice is you create a submit data connection, which submits to the SharePoint Library. You create the form name from fields within the form. Concat(Name, "-", Date, "-", ID) or ...

So you want to know the filename of an existing form that is being opened by the user?
There is a way to get this in code I know.
Or are you wanting to identify the user and then use that in your form for certain permissions.
You also may be talking about promoting the username field. Then you could create a sharepoint view of the library where ...

It has been a while since I have done this, and I thought that I could add a picture, but looking at my templates the picture was set in the form as a background and different forms had different pictures.
I am guessing thought that with code you could use another picture control to replace the background picture.
Have a picture control that ...

This can be done, but requires code and a full trust form.
A better solution is to use an Active Directory Web Service which will allow you to look up information in Active Directory. This can be done codelessly and would perform better.
Do you have a web server you can add it to?
You may want to evaluate the Database Accelerator package. ...
