Hi,
I need to insert data entered in a field (field1) (outside a repeating section) into the very first field (field2) inside a repeating section, when a checkbox is checked. Is there a way to do this using code or otherwise? (I am not familiar with J script/VB script.)
I#%92ve tried adding a rule to the checkbox, but the end result is that all ...

Ok there is another problem ...
It works fine until I publish it to sharepoint list. The NullException catch and results message box ''ERROR'' pop up. So, there must be a problem with the XPath of the field.
This XPath field is annoying yeah ...
Anyone has experienced the same problem ?
Thank you
Regards
Tjen

Thanks guys ... At Last I did it...
The NullException is because the Field XPath Reference is not correct. And the other thing you need to catch Insert Repeating Section Operation as well. Otherwise, the event function will run twice.
Anw I'm still wondering what's the difference between Site and Source ?
Here is my code in case anyone need it

Hi guys,
Thank you for your fast reply ... My first question will be What's the different between Site and Source ?
Sorry not to mention it, I create the event using VS2005. So which one will be suitable for me ?
The other thing, when I try the code. I've got NullReferenceException in
xmlNode.text = System.Environment.username
Thank you ...

I'm not quite sure this is helping as much as it is frustrating me. I don't know XML, It there a point and click method to doing what I want inside InfoPath alone? It just seems like this is something that should be easy.

Did you figure this out? I am trying to do the same thing with repeating table trying to submit all the selections in my repeating table to one field delimited by some character...

yes they are. You can reproduce the behavior by using the following structure, right clicking on each of the SubGroups (in the data source task pane) and selecting Optional section
myFields
-Group
--SubGroup1
---[fields for SubGroup1]
--SubGroup2
---[fields for SubGroup2]

Do a search for cascading dropdown lists and you should be able to do what you want from that information.
