You could try displaying the number as a 'single line of text' instead of a number.
-
1. On the view, double-click your ddl, and then click Rules.
2. Click Add, and then click Add Action.
3. Choose ''Display formula in dialog box''.
4. Click the Fx button, check the ''Edit Xpath'' box, and insert local-name(current())
5. Click OK on all of the dialog boxes.
6. Preview the form and make a selection on the ddl. A dialog should pop up ...

That example was from a html page. Node selection in InfoPath is more like this:
var objField1 = XDocument.DOM.selectSingleNode(''//my:myFields/my:field1'');
-
Here's a small sample, basically you need to know which node you want and use the .focus() method.
function setfocus()
{
var myform = document.forms(0);
var mycntrl = myform.elements(2);
alert(mycntrl.name);
mycntrl.focus();
}

Regarding your error message when trying to open the form the following link may be of use:http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2343
There are a few other threads on the same topic if you wish to search further. (Assuming it's relevant)

Hey Matt:
Thanks for the response! I'm having a little trouble understanding what to do with the instructions - newby here. I've tried it a few (many) times and can't seem to get what you described to work. Could you explain in a little more detail - hopefully geared toward a non-IT person?
Thanks again!

One of my form fields contains a 6 digit project number. When this is displayed in the Sharepoint library it shows up as 123,456. On my form it does not include the comma and I do not want the comma in the library. How can I prevent this from happening?
TIA

This is probably a simple question for the jscript savvy, but I'm new to coding so here goes.
1. I've got a text box control with the data type set to integer. The default value is set to 0.
2. I've assigned a rule to this control that checks the pattern of what the user enters and if it is not an integer, a dialog box will appear with an error ...

I am very new to Infopath (I just heard about it a couple of days ago) and my boss thinks that I should be an expert by now. If have read all of the information that I can find on these forums, but I still can't get my form to work.
