Remember that all existing XML documents will not be pointing to the template at that new location. That means that those documents won't open if you just double-click them. What you will need to do is update the PIs in those documents. You can do this by hand by opening each file and looking for the ''<?mso-infoPathSolution ...>'' at the ...

The way to think of this is in reverse actually. You can import an InfoPath XML file into your existing Excel file. However you need to create an XML map in the excel file using the schema from your InfoPath file. A very abbreviated summary of how to do this is:
In InfoPath:
1) open your template in designer.
2) go to File::Save As Source ...

You can merge any number of forms. First enable merge as is stated above. Then in the Editor select File::Merge Forms. From there you will get a dialog to merge forms. You can multiselect from that dialog and all the selected forms will merge in. You can do it again to merge additional forms. If you want to do more advanced custom merging ...

Actually this is quite easy to do but you need to know an xpath trick. Just set ''Data Validation'' on the first checkbox. Then your conditions are if the first checkbox is true but all the others are false, show an inline error. The trick is how many other checkboxes you have. While I have never done it it is technically possible. All the MSI regform tool does is automatically build the MSI with the right calls to the InfoPath register solution API. You will have to build a custom MSI that checks for the presence of your existing MSI, uninstall it first, then install and call the register solution api in InfoPath to ...

Hello Again All,
This error reared it's ugly head again. People seem to take notice about once every other month. But here's another way to describ this issue
I am getting error message ''File in use by another application or user'', when trying to submit chasnges to a form into the same Form Library.
If I use save, I get ''Infopath cannot save ...

You should be able to accomplish this. This article explains it for SQL but the principles are the same as for Access (since both are using the same ODBC data connection wizard in InfoPath). Look closely on the last screen to confirm that submit is enable for that data ...

The issue is that you have put the sum_parts_cost inside the record table. I thought you wanted to sum all the parts/costs across records.
Option 1) move that outside each record.
Option 2) if you don't actually need to store the data then use the "Expresion Box" control which doesn't need to be bound to a field. You can ...
