Instead of using now() each time. Set in Open Rules if the form is new (a required field is blank or whatever) to populate a field with Now() which essentially is creationdate.
Then use this new creationdate field in your file name and do not modify if the form is opened again. That way your file name remains the same through out the ...

Hi there and welcome to the forum.
Are you creating the form from scratch as a database type?
It should give you the stock template where you can add the query fields and data fields.
With that you should be able to preview and do some simple testing of queries.
It is possible that it is changing views or your query is of a really large table ...

Hi Peter.
That is not too much to ask and it can be done.
Do all of the managers have InfoPath?
The trick is getting the data into SQL.
If you would like a demonstration of a similar configuration I could show you one.

If you used web services instead to query and submit to your database you could get around this limitation. You might want to check out the Database Accelerator package. ...

You are trying to create a dynamic query, which I have seen done with a hack but I am not sure it could work in a browser based form.
I have a better solution for you...Web Services.
Check out the Database Accelerator Package of Web Services.Qdabra Database Accelerator Suite Version 2.1 - Developer

I went through this in another thread recently.
First you need some data in Access before running the data connection wizard. It also should be formatted in Access so it is not rounding but displaying the decimal places. Then it should be a float field in InfoPath and you can set control format to the correct number of decimal places.
