Yes its a list form and a plain multiline field.
I used this - ([0-9]{7}(;\s[0-9]{7})*;).
it works but as soon as I enter a pattern that doesnt match this regex it shows an error ( which is fine) but even after correcting the text in the field this error doesnt go away.
Once an error appears it stays irrespective of the entry in text field.

Glad that it all worked out in the end - have a great weekend!

I would agree with your assessment. I have decided to go the path of least resistance. I convinced management to let me train the users on basic sharepoint functionalities. I also still went with using an infopath form to let them update and add new items with the same form using the integrated sharepoint functions. Everyone is happy. I really ...

So - if you set the query field for the record you want, then query the main data source of the list form, you'll get back the record and can edit it. Your dropdown could be bound to the query ID field (you may have to put the data source task pane into advanced mode to see that) and have the list item ID for the value, and the title (or ...

Thanks for your quick reply. I must admit, I was having a chuckle when I registered with that name as well. As far as the end user not having direct access to the list, I was aware of them needing permissions to the list as I have completed a similar project with this arrangement. However, this project has slightly different requirements and the ...

I love your user name - laughed out loud when I approved the account. One issue I see right off is that you don't want the end user to have access to the list - but the user will have to have permissions to the list to be able to add / edit items. Or do you just mean that you don't have an obvious link any where for the user to click to ...

I apologize if this was asked and answered previously as I was not able to find what I was looking for.
I need to create an environment where the end user is not able to access the sharepoint list. To do this, I am using a blank web part page to connect to an infopath form.
What I would like to do is have the default view either have a drop ...

It is set up with the .JS file. Don't know what changed, but I retried setting it up again this morning and now it works. I'll chock it up to SharePoint just messing with me. Thank you for your response.

Thanks Hillary, you make easy learning InfoPath.

Give this one a try. You'll see I'm using default values for the ref numbers instead of setting on submit -it is just easier with repeating data to do that. If you don't want to see them till submitted, you could add a field to your form for status, set to submitted as part of your submit rules, and only display the ref nums if status ...
