vehicleType.SetValue("");
Empty double quotes. Or you could use String.Empty.

Generally, the "Select" display is if the value of the field is blank. You don't need code for this - you can use rules to set the field bound to the drop down control to blank. If you need to do it programatically, create an XPathNavigator for the node, and use SetValue to set the nav's value to blank.

Hi:
From Office Online:
Publishing a form template is not the same as saving a form template. When a form template is saved, you are saving it to preserve your work, just as you do when you save a file on your computer. The publishing process modifies the form template for distribution by adding the publish location and processing instructions ...

Sometimes when I'm struggling with conditional formatting, I use some expression boxes to see if my XPath is returning what I'd expect it to. In a section bound to the same group that @SkillLevel is in, put a calculated value control (expression box in IP 2007) and put the first half of your condition in there:@SkillLevel[../../@Title = ...

That's an odd one. I'm not sure if there is a log of any kind.... if you save the form as source files, you can see the GUID of the column that you are promoting a field to, and the field that is being promoted.... that may help you see what the issue is. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb265073(v=office.12).aspx for a bit ...

I really don't understand. The form has one table. The table is displayed in different places based on conditional formatting. Is all the info you need to submit the same data structure? It must be, because you aren't going to be changing the data structure on the fly in InfoPath.
So, yes, one repeating group. One SubmitToSharePointList ...

This link shows commands not supported in the browser. Also, the user guide that install with qRules has information on each command's usage as well as if it supported in the browser. To my knowledge, all commands work in both 2007 & 2010. If a command doesn't work in browser 2007, it won't work in browser 2010.

We've had a bit of email back and forth on this and it seems the best plan for you may be to flatten your data source. I'm attaching a new simple sample form that uses conditional formatting to display things in the "grouped" manner I think you are looking for, as well as a qRules SortTable command.
Give this sample a try, see ...

If your form is a browser form, the display a dialog box message action won't be present. And in IP 2010, I think it says something like "Display the results of a field or a formula"....
