Matt, thanks. My real problem is how to use a Drop down instead of a repeating table to display the ''Master'' records. What is the trick? I can not figure out how to prevent the dropdown from repeating. TIA

I have two fields I would like to reference each other. For instance, I have a category of expenses (Airfare, Parking, etc.) that I would like the user to select from a drop-down box. Thank you to all for your replies. What I ended up doing is pretty basic but it works. I just created a hidden text box somewhere on the screen off to the side. By default it's value is 0. When I click the button I make the value 1. The other controls on the screen hide/show depending on that value. That's it. :)

Hello AR12345 Welcome to Infopathdev Forums You can set the status in the form for New or Submit action. You can use Rules to set the status value.

Hello, In the date picker properties you can select the format you want for date type. But if you dont want to do this I think you have to write a code for this. I hope some one will help you with a code for this

Is it possible to determine if a form is being opened for the first time or if it is being opened to be edited? I have a data validation that I need to control based on whether the form is new or is it is being edited. Thanks for your help.

Hello again, One work around I can assume is You can generate the file name and the path into a field on the Form and use this on Save functionality. To skip creating Duplicate forms you can use the field values like Date Time etc from the form. I am not sure how it will help you.
