Hi Sewid,
I don't think you can get rid of the blank space. Here is a thread posted by Greg Colin who is one of our InfoPath MVPs:http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.infopath/browse_thread/thread/ebb70ba71f198519/465fa5aa80bda4fa?lnk=st&q=InfoPath+get+rid+of+blank+space&rnum=1#465fa5aa80bda4fa

hi drgkreddy,
sorry, i tried it before but unsuccessful.

Hello,
Yes You can insert the text box in the same position where the Dropdown is. As the Dropdown hides the text box shows up in the same position.

Well, i have a solution.
1. First i have to work with database connections because is more easy deal with it.
2. i have to write some code:
a) setup my secodary data source (database)
var Solicitudes = XDocument.DataObjects(''CatSolicitudes'').DOM
Solicitudes.setProperty(''SelectionNamespaces'',...
b) depending of selected data, ...

I see. Thanks for the info. ^_^
BTW, is there any other way by using InfoPath form or xml only aside from writing it to other db (or without using Microsoft Script Editor / codes)?

Thanks Matt
I understand how to use conditional formatting to hide the drop-down control when ''Other'' is selected but.... is it possible to have the text box appear in the same location where the drop down control was?
Again Thanks
