Why dont u keep a separate view called ''History''?
An Approver can click a ''History'' button in his view to switch to the ''History'' view where he can see all the details regarding the previous approvers,their remarks and so on.
Example: U can have a Repeating group(Approver) as follows:
Approver//Repeating Group

I guess it might be worth using ''Qdabra XSN Deployment Tool for InfoPath'' if you are not going to use Publish Wizard or if you dont have access to Sharepoint.

Follow the steps below
Open the Text Box Properties
Select Conditional Formatting in the Display tab
Select the Drop down field in the First DDL and Is blank in the Second DDL
Check the Check Box Hide this Control
As long as Drop down list is Blank the Text box will be hidden
