• Re: From infopath 2003 to SQL

Welcome to the forum. Are you planning on using Web Services? If you are going to use the default connectivity in InfoPath, unfortunately you have to build it from scratch around your SQL data. So you would have to start over with your form. With Web Services you would be able to add dynamic queries and submit to SQL by just adding the data ...

  • Re: Approve/Reject from a web browser form.

It appears you have SharePoint (since you have browser enabled), which has work flow. You can use this. Otherwise you just need to build the workflow into your form. The key info you will need is who is completing the form. I would recomend an Active Directory web service since you can ID your form user and get email and other info ...

  • Re: Views from a query

You can control the views in InfoPath. I am not sure if you are referring to an actuall view or a different data schema. There shoudl be an additional action on your query button which switches the view to the one you want.

  • Re: Question about Infopath and database connection

If this is a secondary data connection to a table with ID and Emails, they will all be loaded into your form when it is qureied and then you can use a filter to get the exact address. If you want dynamic queries you must use a web service. So on your email address you would have a rule with a condition, field = epost in your secondary and ...

  • Re: I´m a newbie.. I want to connect the adressbok in outlook..

This is a fairly common request but is outside the standard features of InfoPath. It requires code to connect to the addressbook and then the form has to be full trust, meaning it has to be manually installed for every user so that it has the security to connect. A better practice is to access Active Directory, this can be done codeless with a ...

  • Re: Failed Connection to Datasource

I am at a similar issue with SRS on a project. It is the "Double Hop" problem with IIS. Unless you use Kerberos, you cannot get the Windows Authentication to pass to the second server. I am going to use a SQL account for the second jump. You can search on double hop to see what options there are.

  • Re: Failed Connection to Datasource

I was under the impression that MOSS had an issue with anonymous but I could be wrong. I would maybe try a different account as a test. Full trust is more in regards to code and accessing local functions, it should not have an effect on the MOSS or SQL conectivity with a standard data connection.

  • Re: InfoPath 2003 limitations ?

Hey Tom. Is the calculated field in your default view? The data connection does not return all fields only what is in the view. If a field is not in it you will not get it in your secondary dom. Just wanted to check.

  • Re: Getting user name

The AD web service is nice because there is no code and it is very simple. The bummer with Full Trust is each user has to install the form on their computer, and that is each form template that uses the code. And if it is changed you have to reinstall. The AD web service is nice since once it is available, any form or form developer can use ...

  • Re: Getting user name

Hey Tom. Your issue is that you have SharePoint 2003 and that tutorial is for 2007. I would look at the AD Web Service here http://www.qdabra.com/en/products/ADWebService.aspx You can checkout the video or the documentation. It gives you not only name, but email, address, manager, what ever is in Active Directory. This can be a ...
