  • Re: Infopath Calculations

Hi Jerry, Try this: Double-click on the repeating table in the view. Switch to the Display tab, check the box labeled ''Include footer'' and then click OK. This will give you a good place to place the totals nodes. The best place to add the totals nodes are inside the top-level group of the repeating table. For instance when you insert a ...

  • Automatically Populate Fields from a Drop-Down Selection

When creating a form that deals with data that has already been collected and stored it is very convenient to have a drop-down menu that will populate several other fields whenever a selection is made. One such example of this would be a form used for shipping items to clients. If shipment information has already been input and saved a drop-down ...

  • Re: Indented output from save

I think the easiest way to do this would be to have your users download Altova's XMLSpy. This utility has a nice little ''Pretty Print'' button that automatically turns sloppy XML into nicely indented, pretty XML! I use it all the time. I'm sure it can be done with XSL or something similiar, but if you're editing XML by hand, you might as well ...

  • Re: Display name from DDL

If you have a Many-to-one relationship from Display Names to Values I'm afraid you are going to have to do tricky things to get the correct display value. As a general rule of thumb the names/values should be unique.

  • Re: Logic to blank controls

This should be relatively easy to do in code. It sounds like you need to put code in the OnAfterChange events of the textboxes. To do this, double-click the node from the Data Source task pane and change to the Data Validation tab. At the bottom select OnAfterchange and then click Edit Code... Besides this, do you have any code that you have ...

  • Re: Clearing cascading dropdowns in a repeating table

I think I know what your problem is, but let me know if I'm misunderstanding it. Say you have a Math category with Calculus, Discrete Mathematics, and Set Theory as classes. If the user selects Calculus in the first row you do not want to display it in any of the subsequent rows, even if they select Math as the category in other rows. The ...

  • Re: Infopath Calculations

Hi Jerry and welcome to the forum! Expression boxes are used only for displaying data, there is no way that you can get at the calculated value within an expression box and use it elsewhere. What you want to do is add a new column to your repeating table to calculate each line item total, and then you can get at these values and create a ...

  • Re: Comparing rows of a repeating section or table

Hi Marien, The code example given is in C#.NET, which is managed code. You are using JScript. The equivalent in JScript would be as follows: var oNodeList = XDocument.DOM.selectNodes(''my:myFields/my:group1/my:group2''); var oNode; while( (oNode = oNodeList.nextNode()) != null ) { if( oNode.nodeType == 1 ) { var oField = ...

  • Re: Export multiple views to .MHT

From what I know, you cannot call SwitchView() twice in the same method. You could probably do something really tricky with an OnAfterChange event, but otherwise I do not know what advice to give you.
