Try setting the Vcode field with some random text like, ''TESTING!'' to see if that value is set correctly into the field. If so, you've got that part of the problem working correctly, then we just need to focus on pulling the right vcode value and placing it there.

Is there a way to automatically refresh a Infopath form after filling it (after submit is pressed)?
I want to be able to also edit what was previously entered and I need it to refresh its data connection so it could ''see'' the added items since it was first open.
I hope I don't sound confusing.

Yep that's what I'm trying to do. I am unable to select the text from my custom task bar. I'm sure I could write code to create a button to ''Copy to Clipboard'' but would be more work for our users to delete the parts they don't want.

The last solution did work and is solved.
However when I Added a rule to the ''Departments'' drop-down list which sets the value of the ''V-Code'' list it doesn't seem to work.
I made a rule setting fields value. Choose the field Vcode where the code should automaticly show en put @Vcode in the value box.
