Thanks...I just worked around this issue with a Submit button via the Toolbar.

What is the best alternative to apply InfoPath to Calculate and store data. I have SharePoint and SQL Server. I've been trying to use SQL Server to store my data, but it has been very difficult to say the least. Is storing/retrieving data in SharePoint any better. Can I do the same with SharePoint than SQL Server. Please let me know.

string now = DateTime.Now.ToString(''yyyy-MM-dd'');
thisXDocument.DOM.selectSingleNode(''Date field xpath'').text = now;

I'm not sure if I've stumped everyone or asked something that necesitated the completion of additional research? Maybe I just need to be directed to another post that talks specifically about altering existing Sharepoint List data via Infopath Form Submissions?
