I would just Google around for a ''JavaScript syntax'' tutorial and maybe work your way through a couple Hello World programs to get the ball rolling. Other than that, there are several books listed in the Resources section of this website that are recommended by our team.
Also, you might have a look at using VBScript instead of JScript, it's ...

I haven't done testing for this, but my instinct would tell me that SQL DB is going to be considerably more performant, especially as your solution grows to large scales.
Storing data in a secondary data source is almost always a good idea. If you want other applications to also have easy access to the data, a database is a good idea, otherwise ...

Hm, well this sounds like you won't really be able to tweak it from within InfoPath, except from what you said by reducing the number of data connections. Three to five minutes sounds like an awefully long time for a form to load, if you can't cut down on the number of data connections making pages for the data might be a good idea. This is where ...

You will need to use the current function for this. Check out this HowTo I recently wrote and I think it should be able to get you on the right track:

You could use techniques found from these HowTos to get an idea on paging the data:

It basically means that if you have, say 10000 rows in a database, you would only show one ...

I think this should do the trick:
xdXDocument:GetDOM(''XML DATASOURCE'')/entity/group/field[../../group/@caption = current() and ./@caption = ''Location'']
If this doesn't work, could you paste the XPath you tried so we can debug it?

Hi Shweta,
I haven't actually done this before, but after browsing through the InfoPath SDK I am pretty sure you could do this using code. Take a look at the WebServiceAdapter object and I think you should be able to set the query parameters from within the input property. A quck code example would be something like this:
var ...

What kind of performance issues are you seeing? Does the screen flicker or maybe the drop-down take a long time to actually drop down?

You can read the active directory stuff from InfoPath, but I don't think editing Windows Network User Accounts is going to be an easy task from within something like InfoPath. It seems like the only way to do this is through the wizards built in to Windows. You might be able to cook up some sly javascript files that could do what you're ...
