That's interesting - so it is an inconsistent failure, with no errors in the SharePoint log files (just to be sure - you checked the actual folder of log files, not event viewer, correct?). What kind of time range between submits?

Fourth or fifth time from the same XML? or new forms each time?

Is this reproducible? Or completely random? Any errors in the SharePoint logs when it fails? What version of qRules are you using?

I think the way I'd do this is by leveraging an XML secondary data source. Create an XML file with fields for each of the columns you want to be able to set. Then, in your main data source, you could set that field when you change a value in the field that is in the column - rules on the 2DS field populate the column. I've attached a ...

Looks like you may need to add OpenIn=Browser too.

As to storing in SQL, sadly, if you ...

No, I don't think so - by clicked, you mean to open the file, right? Is that what you are trying to ascertain?
The events are just changing, validating and changed.... I suppose you could try to leverage the context changed event (as long as this is not a browser form): ...

It isn't the file attachment control that has events - but the field bound to the control. What version of InfoPath are you using?
