• Re: Retrieve username, firstname and lastname

Where are you getting the identity information? I can't help with the code, but I can tell you that Qdabra has an Active Directory Web Service tool that will retrieve all that info for you and do so very easily.

  • Re: InfoPath 2010 questions? Ask here.

It still uses .xsn. what are you seeing? Every 2010 form template I've created is an .XSN file type. I don't know about feature.xmla and workflow.xml, but I do know that we can now customize workflow task forms in SharePoint Designer 2010 out of the box, so I don't know that you even have to worry about the method you're ...

  • Re: Accessing an infopath db field value in workflow

Should be pretty simple. You can do one of two things: 1) In the dropdown controls for those names, you can set the Value to the person's email address while leaving the Display Name as their Full name. This way, the user selects a friendly name, but the underlying value saved in the XML is that user's email, which you then ...
Print option not available if you try to make list form on infopath.
This is the answer. Harlequin just happened to never mention that he was doing custom list forms and not actual full-fledged InfoPath forms. Printing is not supported with custom list forms, but I don't know why. ...

How to use them? What do you mean? This is a new feature of 2010 and it just works - it doesn't require configuration. Have you tried it, and it didn't work, or something else? Which exact multi-select box are you using? Dropdowns, radio buttons, checkboxes, combo boxes, etc? Let me know, and ...

Ah, i see. That article is all about getting it to work in a browser form, which requires MOSS Enterprise, so I didn't notice the differentiation.

  • Re: UserProfileService.asmx has invalid/outdated data

Rick, I don't think that's the right link. That's a lot of code to do what can easily be done without code. That article is using the wrong web method. If you use GetUserProfileByname, then you can return the FirstName, LastName, PreferredName (full name) all without code. This is the proper article for getting ...

  • Re: Browser enabled InfoPath form and MOSS Approval Workflow...

David, sorry that I never saw this. You don't use a URL parameter to send to a specific view, but rather you use Form Load rules to switch views based off the user's identity, the workflow status, or pretty much any combination of metadata in the form. I do this on most of my forms and typically base it off the user's ...
