• Open a web page upon form submission

I'm wondering if there's a codeless, rules based method (qRules would be OK) that opens a web page when a browser based form is submitted to SharePoint. Here's the scenario: a user fills out a form that has an optional checkbox. By checking the box, a conference center web application opens. Conversely, if this can't ...

  • Re: InfoPath and Calendar requests

Hi Patrick, Just got in from the weekend, and I'll take a closer look at the suggestions you posted. And yes, qRules would definitely be viable. I received it when I came to training, and am using it quite a bit these days. This might be a good use of the hour's consulting, what do you think?

  • Re: InfoPath and Calendar requests

Thanks for the reply Patrick. Sounds like a good team solution, however, this form is intended for organizational use which involves roughly 5000 or more users. Not every department uses SharePoint team calendars, which is why I had been using an iCalendar file for the previous version (not InfoPath). I wonder if there's ever been ...

  • Re: Error at calling SharePoint UserProfileService webservice function for domain trust

Hi David, Is the form trying to get the credentials for the current user? If so, there's a little known quirk with cross domain access regarding SharePoint. You might try instead of BBBB\user, use concat("BBBB\", username()). If that doesn't work, you may need to establish an impersonation user in Secure Store ...

  • Re: InfoPath and Calendar requests

Does somebody have any wisdom on this subject? I'm basically wanting to write to a text file, save as an iCalendar file (.ics), and attach to an email message. I'm stuck on writing to a text file from an InfoPath browser form, of course, trying to do it without needing to write code. I'd like to avoid full trust if at ...

  • InfoPath and Calendar requests

I hope this hasn't been answered ad nauseum. I'm hoping there is a method for sending calendar updates, such as appointments or all day events, to Outlook. I use a form product currently that I create a ICS iCalendar formatted text file that gets attached to an email alert. The user then opens the file, saves the results to their calendar, ...

  • Re: Qrules injector is breaking my webform

I had the same issue and found the following solution: http://gordonduthie.net/2011/01/26/sharepoint-2010-claims-based-security-infopath-data-connections-and-getuserprofilebyname/ , I was able to narrow down how to get reliable user data using Secure Source Server in SharePoint and an anonymous user in the target application. Specifically, ...

  • Re: Move DBXL to another server on SharePoint 2010 farm

Thanks for the reply, Ernesto. Yes, the SQL server is on a separate instance on our network. It's not on the same farm or any of the servers on the farm. I had no problem initially setting it up to communicate with the DB, but when trying to use existing tables in a new instance of DBXL, I'm gettng some sort of permission ...

  • Move DBXL to another server on SharePoint 2010 farm

Hi. I've been evaluating DBXL since returning from the Master class and have found that the instance is installed on a server node different from how SP2010 is called. How can I move the installation to the correct node? For instance, DBXL is called from http://sharepointserver1:222, and the installed site is called from ...

  • Re: Difference between filler and browser when calling GetUserProfileByName

Latest update: our SharePoint farm had several services that had stopped that we weren't aware of. This was likely caused by severe disk space issues on all nodes of the farm. Our support staff cleaned up all they could and cleared up significant space. One of the serivces, Secure Store Service, had crashed and was the ...
