  • Re: File Attachment Name

Hi Shiva Sorry if I was not clear in my first post but the picture file is not static. It is something the user uploads and will have a different name everytime. The issue is that keeping the name of the file correct is very important for our reference. Is there anyway to do the above but only when a user uploads it?

  • Re: How to get the attached file out from task form

No need to apologies. You have been very helpful.   Just to clarify - all I need to do is put the modified code from your example in the onAfterChange event? No extra files are needed to somehow be included in the form?

Hi Hilary Thanks for the reply. I think your pointing me in the right direction and while I haven't gotten my hands dirty yet, I should be able to atleast decode the name and use it to open a file. That being said, I am still unclear how to apply all this. How does this code run in the form? Do you put the default attachment control on the ...

Hi Hilary I think the example you posted is what I am looking for to help solve a problem I am having however the only issue is that I can't open the example because it was created in a newer version of Visual Studio then the one I have (which is 2003). Is there another example for VS 2003 or is there an easy way to explain what is going ...

  • Re: File Attachment Name

Hi Shiva Thanks for the info. I checked our the page but I do still have some questions. I beleive I understand how to retrieve the name of the file that is saved inside infopath but how would I go open having infopath open it as that file name? Just to clarify my problem: I don't need to save the file name anywhere. Let's say I have a ...

  • Re: User Roles - How exactly do they work?

Ok...I seem to have spoken to soon. Now its blocking the field for everyone. Here is my example:  I have 2 users roles: default (which is set to default) production (which is made up of the AD group called Production) One of the drop downs on my form has conditional formating that says if field1 = variable1 AND user role is NOT ...

  • File Attachment Name

I am running into a problem when opening a file attached to the infopath form. When I open the file the name of the file changes (looks to be just a random sequence of letters and numbers). When I hit Save As it still shows the original name. The problem is that the file name is very important and the users are confused when they see something ...

  • User Roles - How exactly do they work?

I am new to Infopath but I think I've managed to find my way fairly well so far however I seem to have run into a problem. I have an Infopath form with multiple views that is published to a Sharepoint site and I want to be able to lock certain fields depending on the user (or group).  After poking around a bit I thought I found my ...

  • Re: Copying Data to Repeating Table in Detail Section

    Hi Adam and thanks for your reply. To be a bit more specific about the layout of the form...here is the best way I can present it. <Repeating Section> <Master> </Master> <Detail> <Repeat Table1> <Repeat Table2> </Repeat Table2> <Repeat Table 3> </Repeat Table3> </Repeat ...
