My mistake was trying to handle the event based on the control ID when I should have been handling the change in the dataobject DOM. Thanks for your help!, it got me looking on the right track, then found a good example on MSDN. Cheers! Unspecified error'' error? I've got a dropdown that's bound to my main datasource, but populates its options from a secondary data source; which all works ... Patrick, it would seem that this can be done in vb.net per this thread you contributed to back in 2005: http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=695 Is it just c# that won't play well here? Thanks! And, if so, any examples? Many thanks for any help!! Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by jackinthegreen on 02-13-2007 Re: prevent textbox auto reformating? Thanks Kaylan! My problem was that since the original textbox was created from the main datasource queryfields, it wouldn't allow me to set the datatype. But I had another textbox referencing a custom field I created that did not strip off the zeroes on button click even though it has a text(string) format, so I deleted the queryfield bound ... Hi, I've got a text box that is of format type simpletype and is bound to a queryfield, and when I click on a button that initiates the query it first removes all zero's at the front of the number entered; even though the data type is not numeric. This is a royal pain since the data has the format 001 etc.. and is of a string format in the db. ...
