  • How to limit chars returned in a web service & populate text box?

I want to show no more than 5 chars in my text box. I set this manually in the properties, but it only seems to work when you type values into the text box. I need to restrict the value returned from my web service to 5 chars and then populate the text box Pls advise Thanks

  • How do I pass text box value to web service?

I need to pass a value in a text box as a parameter to a web service. The value returned from the web service then needs to be displayed in another text box. Example: pass in ID from text box to the web service which then returns the social security number. That returned number is then displayed in a separate text box.

  • Re: How do I submit individual views?

Can you explain this clearly and point me to an example...cheers "you can add as many different data connections as you want and use them at different times so that is not a problem. "

  • Re: How do I submit individual views?

No you can't. When you set the submit options for one view it gets carried across to all your other views. Similarly when you set a data connection in one view it cascades to all other views.

  • How do I submit individual views?

I cannot submit individual views - it always submits the default one. One view gets called from the default view. When I click submit it always submits the default one With a view, in the form submit options, when you turn off the submit it sets this for all views. Is it possible to set it for the view you are currently setting only?

  • Re: How can I switch views based on combo box value?

Thanks Hilary - that seems to work. The only issue is that one cannot seem to a different data connection for each view. My sharepoint has two document libraries and I wanted each view to go to the relevant one. I notice when I set a data connection on one view it is replicated on the other view and is not changeable.

  • Re: How can I switch views based on combo box value?

Thanks for the reply. Yes I managed to do that. I use the combo to set a value in a text box (1,2) and then the button shows the view depending (via rule and condition) on the choice. Another problem arises when I submit the view to Sharepoint - it seems to pick up the original view - one with the combo and not the view I am currently on.

  • How can I switch views based on combo box value?

I have a view with a combo box. When a value is selected from that combo box I need a particular view to load. so if value 1 then load view1 if value 2 then load view2 etc I tried using rules, but switch view is not available for a combo box. I assume some code is needed. Pls advise Thanks
