Hello, What is the best agreed upon coded approach to allow users to not only submit a browser-enabled InfoPath form to a form library in SP, but also then after the form is submitted, restrict them to only view and edit their own forms, rather than everybody's forms as the 'Contribute' permissions allow? I don't believe customized views are secure enough...if a malicious user knows enough about hacking sharepoint they can just type in the path to the forms library All Doucments view: http://myserver/mysite/myFormsLibrary/Forms/AllItems.aspx and view confidential information, right? Like I said, we have already had one malicious attack. I ... Posted to Browser Forms (Forum) by TAMU_David on 09-24-2009 How to allow users to submit, view and edit "only their own" browser-enabled InfoPath forms in a SharePoint Document Form Library? I know MS has screwed us on this one, but I was wondering what is the best agreed upon solution to allow users to not only submit an InfoPath form to a form library in SP, but also then to restrict them to only be able to view and edit their own forms, rather than everybody's forms as the 'Contribute' permissions ... Posted to Browser Forms (Forum) by TAMU_David on 09-24-2009 Re: Browser enabled InfoPath form and MOSS Approval Workflow... Hi Clayton, thanks for the great thread here. Is there a way to change the view of the form by appending text to the URL? I don't think there is, but I thought I'd ask you. My scenario: After the user submits the form (view #1), an email is sent to the Department Head with a link to the form so that they can approve or reject it. ... Posted to Workflow (Forum) by TAMU_David on 09-07-2009 Re: Submit Button Error Message on Browser Form No, my problem was not related to any controls or conditional formatting. As it turns out it was something very simple that I overlooked. I had an absolute path to the Infopath form, and as soon as I changed it to a relative path then users from both the default zone and the extranet zone were able to submit the form. I'm still kicking ... Posted to Browser Forms (Forum) by TAMU_David on 08-19-2009 InfoPath Forms Services Error Background: I have a new MOSS 2007 SharePoint extranet Site Collection that allows employees at Texas A&M University to submit data about their upcoming international travel. We have the basic two authentication provider zones: default (for internal users) and extranet (for users outside of our network). The Infopath 2007 form uses the submit ... If I use my external account to login on a computer within the network, then everything works fine.... but when I use that same account from my home computer then I get the error message. Also, a professor on ... Posted to Browser Forms (Forum) by TAMU_David on 08-05-2009 Re: Submit Button Error Message on Browser Form I don't think the rule is the problem as I deleted it in the last step when I got rid of the button control. I do not have a rule now and now I have a simpler error message - "An error occurred while the form was being submitted." Posted to Browser Forms (Forum) by TAMU_David on 08-05-2009 Re: Submit Button Error Message on Browser Form I took your advice but it still isn't working. I deleted the button control and rules for now, reactivated the tool bar submit button, and republished the form. Again, I was able to submit the form successfully internally, but when I try it remotely from my home computer I get an error message. Here is the link in case you would like to ...
