I ventured into the Information Technology field about five years ago, leaving behind a 10 year law enforcement career. I don't claim to be an expert at anything, but I've had a good deal of success at finding my way through many challenges in the IT field. I don’t really have any formal IT training or education with the exception of a certification here and there. I can safely say that about 85% of everything I know relating to IT was self-taught through various forms of research and trial and error.
