I was also hoping that DBXL had the ability to get the collection of XML documents and parse them somehow.

It's great to read that DBXL 2.8 is now based on the Event Receiver model. Does that mean form updates done via SharePoint workflows would now be updated in the SQL DB mapped fields as well?

Re: Report on repeating data for existing forms

I think there are some options for DBXL if you don't want the form(s) to submit to the web service.

In DBXL v2.8, the forms submit directly to the form library, and the DBXL Event Receiver maps the data to DBXL. Then, DBXL can map the data to SQL for reporting. The Deployment Guide (and other DBXL v2.8 documents) can be found here for more info: http://www.infopathdev.com/files/folders/installation_and_setup/tags/DBXL+v2.8/default.aspx

Using DBXL v2.7 Standalone Edition, you could perform a sync with a form library and download the data into a local version of DBXL, then map into SQL. More info on that scenario here: http://www.infopathdev.com/files/folders/standalone/entry74112.aspx

Hope this helps!

Re: Report on repeating data for existing forms

Not really - if you promote your repeating fields to your library, you can set them to "merge" the data, but trying to sort that out is pretty messy. You can submit the repeating data to a list (either via CAML, custom code, or qRules) and then report on the list....

Report on repeating data for existing forms

I've read through a few posts on reporting on repeating data through DBXL.
