That is what I was afraid of. It would be easier to maintain

For this, we recommend using qRules. On Hilary's latest blog post, you'll find a link of links with documentation on this related to qRules v4.2.

Hope this helps!

Where can I find documentation on how to map DBXL to a SharePoint lists?

Background: The project I am working on will be using
InfoPath forms to allow users to enter data into forms which will submit data
to a SQL Server database for reporting purposes and simultaneously submit the
same data to SharePoint lists to make use of SharePoint features such as
generating MS Word documents, search, version control, etc. The database and
lists are for the exclusive use of this project.

I am looking for documentation on how to map DBXL to
SharePoint lists. The only documentation I have been able to find discusses writing
XML documents to SharePoint form (document) libraries. I need to write data to
a list.
