Check this using the IIS Manager and remove if present. The Dbxl App pool name will be DbxlAppPoolXXX where XXX is the website ID.

Do you need the databases? DBXL does not remove your databases. If they are not needed, use SQL Server Management Studio to delete any databases that were created (namely QdabraDBXL and QdabraUtility or QdabraSamples).

After performing the above cleanup steps, perform an iisreset, and then installing DBXL.

I'll ask Jim to review your second question, but I don't imagine any problems with that setup.

DBXL Uninstall - Install scenario

We have an older version of DBXL 2.3 installed on what is now a test server, SRVTEST.

SRVTEST contains both the IIS 6.0 Web server and the MS SQL 2005 database server.

We want to uninstall the existing version and do a test install of the new version.

Is it possible to completely remove the existing DBXL durint the uninstall from the test server and be able to "test" the new version install as if there was never previously installed? Any additonal steps we should take to accomplish this?

Also,

The production environment will be different in the following ways:

1) The IIS 6.0 Web server and MS SQL 2008 database server are on different servers.
2) The MS SQL 2008 database is clustered

Will this create any special problems when installing the latest version in production?
