Thank you for the feedback and reference to valuable documentation. After reading through the document "How to IPFS-enable a codeless DBXL solution", I found out that my current installation will not work as my installation of DBXL is on a different machine as my SharePoint installation!

I will install DBXL on the SharePoint machine and try it again.

Thank you and have a nice weekend,

You should go through the steps in the Getting Started document. This is a good introduction to what DBXL can accomplish. Tasks 3 through 6 will show you how to:

(a) Create a button to submit to the DBXL web service

(b) Create a mapping from DBXL to SQL

(c) Create a SharePoint mapping to a form library

Of course, this document illustrates ONLY the most basic scenario. Depending on your setup you might need additional steps. For example, how to IPFS enable a codeless DBXL solution. For those specific scenarios, you'll find documentation here.

Publish Form to SharePoint, Map data to Database Table

Dear Colleague,

I would like to test the following:

1. Create simple browser enabled form with a submit button that uses the DBXL web service to write some of the form fields to a DB table

2. Publish the form to a SharePoint Form Library

3. Execute form from SharePoint and verify that data is written to the target DB table.

When I attempted this I was confused as I did not not know how to reference my published form within DAT. When I create a configuration in DAT and the form template is associated also. Is it possible with the dialog box to enter the URL of the SharePoint form library? Or how show I proceed?

I assume the basic steps are:

1. create simple table with two fields

2. create simple browser enabled form with a submit button that uses the DBXL web service to write some of the form fields to a DB table

3. publish form to SharePoint form library

4. Create DB mapping in the DBXL DAT

5. Run the form in SharePoint and enter data

6. Verify that the data is parsed to the DB table

Is the above procedure correct or did I forget something? I already successfully performed steps 1 - 3. I am having problems with step 4 above.

I would appreciate your support on this.

Thanks and regards,
