On Submit Actions and Events

Hello,

So I have a web-enabled InfoPath form which is connected to an external content type in "Library 1". When this is submitted to "Library 1", I want to be able to create another new item in "Library 2" which also uses an InfoPath form. I need some of the values from the newly created item in "Library 1" to be passed into the new form as default values and then saved to be edited at a later time (not submitted/created right away).

I think a workflow may work in this situation or somehow linking the second form to open up after the first form is submitted. I have no experience with workflows so I havent been able to figure it out yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
